The Tata Memorial Hospital, Bombay
                                                                            (now Mumbai), was opened on
                                                                            February 28, 1941, by the Governor
                                                                            of Bombay, Sir Roger Lumley.  $























                       The Tata Institute of
                   Social Sciences moved to
                        its new premises at
           Chembur, Bombay (now Mumbai),
              in 1954. The Prime Minister of
             India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru,
                  officially declared the new
                     building open.  $

                                                                            which was developed on 15 acres
                                                                            of seafront land in Colaba, in
                                                                            South Bombay (now Mumbai),
                                                                            was inaugurated on
                                                                            January 15, 1962.  $
