JRD Tata’s office, relocated to TCA from Bombay House, Bombay (now Mumbai), the headquarters of the Tata group.
It evokes nostalgic memories in everyone who worked closely with him. $
(Left) Kalpana Chawla, whose life was tragically cut short in the Space
Shuttle Columbia disaster in February 2003, was a great admirer of
JRD. After her tragic demise, her family sent this memorabilia to
RN Tata. The highlights are a crew autographed group picture of
the Space Shuttle Mission STS-87 (her first), a pair of medallions
commemorating her two space journeys and a black and white
photograph of JRD’s inaugural mail flight which she carried along
with her on her first mission into space. $
