March 3, the birth anniversary of our Founder, Jamsetji Tata is celebrated as Founder’s Day by Tata group companies.
The employees of Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC), Tata Business Excellence Group (TBExG) and Tata Central Archives (TCA) too celebrated this day with much pomp and gaiety.
Professor Sanjay Govind Dhande, Former Director, IIT Kanpur was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Mrs. Dhande, Mr. and Mrs. Hrishikesh Dhande and Mr. Emmanuel David, Director TMTC also graced the occasion.
The celebrations began with the garlanding of the bust of the Founder and the portrait of JRD Tata at the TCA foyer by the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dhande recalled fond memories of his long association with the Tata group. He stated that not many business conglomerates have been able to sustain for 150 years. But, the Tata’s achieved this feat mainly because of their three guiding characteristics – the group’s strong value system, commitment to social responsibility and pursuit for excellence.
Mr. David spoke about the strong foundations laid down by our Founder and stated that we too must emulate his principles and ideals in our day-to-day work.
The celebrations then continued at the TMTC lawns where the Jamsetji N. Tata Moving Exhibition was showcased. The exhibition was inaugurated by Professor Dhande and Mr. Emmanuel David. This exhibition was open to all employees and their families to enable them to learn more about the Founder and his life.
The Founder’s Day celebrations culminated with some fun filled games and sumptuous lunch for employees and their families.
